Elections for mandates 2027-2029: call for candidates
Dear ISTEE Members,
This autumn, elections will be held for the ISTEE Executive Board and Auditing Committee for the 2027-2029 term. If you would like to play an active role in our society by joining the Executive Board or the Auditing Committee, we encourage you to get in touch via contact@istee.org or through our online website form.
Candidates will be asked to submit a brief CV and a motivation letter introducing themselves to the membership. For each position, a maximum of two candidates will be selected by the Nominating Committee (or by the Executive Board in case of the Vice-President position), in accordance with the Society’s by-laws. A candidate may run for only one position, but may express interest in multiple positions to the Nominating Committee (or Executive Board in case of the Vice-President position).
Open positions
1. Vice-President / President-Elect
Term: June 2027-2029 (with subsequent rotation to President, then Past President).
Eligibility: Because the president of the term 2027-2029 will be from Asia, only candidates from the Americas, Europe, and Global Communities are eligible for the position of Vice-President to ensure geographic diversity.
Responsibilities include supporting ISTEE leadership, serving as co‑signatory on conference agreements, and assuming presidential duties if required.
2. Members at large (2 positions)
Term: 4 years (June 2027-2031).
Eligibility: Member of ISTEE.
Responsibilities: Members-at-Large participate in the conduct of operations of the EB and can assist with the calendar of events, and in other operations or activities assigned by the EB. They serve as the Nominating Committee for upcoming elections.
3. Auditing Committee Members (2 positions)
Term: 4 years (June 2027-2031).
Responsibilities: Audit and approve biennial budgets and reports prepared by the Treasurer.

We welcome self‑nominations as well as nominations of colleagues.

Statement of interest aimed to introduce yourself to the membership (max. 1 page)
Short CV (max. 2 pages)

Election Timeline
Key dates of the election process are:
September 1, 2026: Call for nominations
October 15, 2026: Closure of nominations
November 1, 2026: Elections opened
January, 10, 2027: Elections closed
February 1, 2027: Announcement of election results
June 18, 2027: Newly elected members assume duties right after the Closing Session of the forthcoming ISTEE Conference
